The Black Swan theory refers to a large-impact, hard-to-predict, and rare event beyond the realm of normal expectations.--Wikipedia
I've realized the following CCC people are black swans:
One is a recent intern, another part of Keynote, another part of Family Life, another an experienced and wise staffed campus leader. All four are CCC black swans because:
- they are inspired more by the FUTURE than the present
- they live out of ITERATION and invention; not just talk about it
- believe that the impossible or not yet can be achieved through genuine INNOVATION, not a reordering of the old.
Our organization does not nourish black swans; most have figured out or are figuring out how to express and develop these qualities on the FRINGES of CCC or through non-CCC channels. I have grown and been encouraged to meet these black swans, and realize I've stumbled on a new tribe that up until about six months ago did not realize existed.
Thanks to @kaipott for coining the Black Swan during our last meeting!
