Before the Presentation--How to Train Students to Engage Evangelistically

Although I am all in favour of finding tools that do the job of walking through the gospel better than the 4SL, for me, the real need we are facing in the campus ministry is before we even get to the 4SL. This is why I found your post on engagement and exposures so interesting. It encapsulated thoughts I had about that part of evangelism which enables us to have gospel conversations.

Also, interestingly, our training is traditionally very strong in teaching students how to use the 4SL (or equivalent), but there is generally not a whole lot on getting to the point where you share the 4SL ie engagement.

Have you focused at all on training students in building evangelistic engagement before they actually share the Gospel? We have done some training on how to be a "wingman" in an evangelistic conversation, but nothing on before the presentation.
