I'm excited to attend a non-CCC conference that is only a day long, in a great city (San Francisco), and from a totally different vocational field (web/tech industry).
You can check out what it's all about by clicking here.
More than ever before, our staff team has used Facebook as a primary tool for ministry. It's no longer helpful but absolutely critical to be on Facebook and utilizing its various features to build and develop relationships.
This conference does not address this issue directly, but it tackles the challenge of understanding online social networks and virtual economies. I'm hoping for a couple nuggets that will change the way I understand interacting via the online world.
Also, it will be fun to go to SF and be in the city. I will be posting my thoughts and pictures via Twitter, and perhaps a blog via my iPhone.
Here's a brief snippet of what the conference is about from their website:
"The Virtual Goods Summit is a one day conference focused
on the emerging market opportunity for virtual goods and economies.
Once restricted to the world of online gaming, virtual goods and
currencies are beginning to influence the development of social
networks, community sites, and many other new and exciting markets."
